Indie Fever

I had to start a new blog just for Indie Fever  (2014 Reading Challenge: IndieFever!) . . . the list was grown rapidly. . .

Just for review on what has transpired thus far. . .

2014 Reading Challenge: IndieFever! . . .Accepted

I have decided to take up the 2014 Reading Challenge: Indie-Fever!
Read & Review as many Indie Books as I can!

This is going to be fun.  I learned that I can find many Indie Authors at Amazon.com.  That is where I anticipate picking up many of the authors I plan to read and review.

I believe that my first challenge will be to pick the level I anticipate attaining.

Challenge Level:
Amateur : Choose to read 1 - 24 New Authors
Lover     : Choose to read 25 - 49 New Authors
Expert    : Choose to read 50 - 74 New Authors
Fanatic   : Choose to read 75 or above New Authors

Since I am not completely certain that all the authors I pick will be Indie let me begin at the beginning.  Amateur.  If later I feel that I am accurate on picking Indie authors I will increase the challenge level.

If you to decide you want to participate in the Indie Fever go to: 2014 Reading Challenge: IndieFever!

I went from there to  bk 1. . .
Complete book one
Jennifer Traveler

Camo Christmas 'Camo Christmas' by Jennifer Traveler . . . 4/5 starts 1stRead by this author. . . Quickie read (about an hour) simple to the point Christmas love story. Tara and Mason both have things they need to say but the past keeps poking its head in the way. But in the end it all comes out. Traveler mixes the holiday with tragedy and make love come out with believability in this short story.

Book 2 came 2 january 2014

Ann Mayburn

Peppermint Passion
'Peppermint Passion' by Ann Mayburn . . . 5/5 stars on my 1st read by Mayburn and must admit that auctions will never be viewed in the same light again. A quickie that gives much more than a quickie in return.  It also gives one a whole new meaning to peppermint and uses for it. Think about it.

Book 3 came 5 january 2014

Jasmine Aherne

Uprooted  'Uprooted' by Jasmine Aherne . . . 4/5 stars for this first read, I find that the main character (heroine) has competition in the package of a 12 year old girl.  I feel that this story is more centered around the little girl and her father being uprooted and not the relationship between father and heroine. I found this to be more of a feel good than a romance.

Books 4 - 9

Practice Makes Perfect by Miss Janelly
Mr. Fix It by Satin
Rainy Day Surprise by Vallory Vance
Resurrection by Celeste Anwar
Paid to Play by Roxanne Sweet
Shamelessly Taken by Mel Blue

Practice Makes Perfect by Miss Janelly . . . 1/5 stars There were too many errors in grammar, misspellings, and word order. You every felt like you read a sentence wrong. Well, that was more than 60% of the book.

Mr. Fix It by Satin . . . 4/5 stars 1st read by Satin, this was passable but it made the heroine seem more like a hoe trying for a fix.  Somewhere in there a romance came about in the end

Rainy Day Surprise by Vallory Vance . . . 4/5 stars 1st read by this author and I wanted more of Kevin and Amber.  This was really quick read. Simple yet intriguing.

Resurrection by Celeste Anwar . . .1st reads by this author and I must say 'Fantasy Island' watch out for the fantasy club. Fantasies provided in the night and may end with more than one bargains for. Quick, yet satisfying.

Paid to Play by Roxanne Sweet . . . 4/5 stars 1st read by Sweet, I find it interesting the fact she is searching Craigslist.  Her Craigslist encounters makes one wonder if she will be satisfied with just one.

Shamelessly Taken by Mel Blue . . . 5/5 stars 1st read by Blue and I thoroughly enjoyed this New Year's eve celebration.  The New Year provides one the hope for a future and a chance to make up for the past.  The other little snippets provided make me want to venture further into the 'Den of Sin'.

Book 10
Indie Fever is on a roll with bk 10 rolling down the completion list:
Catherine Snodgrass

The Wishing Tree (The Texas Brides, Book I)  'The Wishing Tree' - 5/5 stars for this first read by Snodgrass, I found it to be a heartwarming historical romance with laughs thrown in for good measure.  Jake makes a mess of things when what he really wants to do is make things right.  Grace finally getting her way out and then gaining much more than she could have every expected.

Snodgrass does a wonderful job making a romance stand the test of life and all it has to throw at you

Book 11 - 13
Rene Rogers
Wynter Daniels
Sienna Mynx

Toasted Coconuts  'Toasted Coconuts' by Rene Rogers . . . 4/5 stars - This is a first read by Rogers for me.  I enjoyed the island theme.  Patricia takes her life in her own hands after divorce.  She finally do something she has long to do.  After visiting the island once and experiencing no adventure, she takes this opportunity to make the experience one to remember.

Desert of Desire  'Desert of Desire' by Wynter Daniels . . . 5/5 stars - This is a first read by Daniels for me.  A desert oasis with qualities of the Garden of Eden with one big difference a very sexy caretaker.  Eve sent to get an interview from this sexy man finds a lot more than a story to boost her career.  Sparks fly immediately but this girl was baffled by what she was experiencing.

On the Wing's of Love 'On the Wing's of Love' by Sienna Mynx . . . 4/5 stars - An interracial romance set in the 40s.  Can it really have positive results?  This was the main question in my mind as I began to read.  In the end I find it a beautiful story.

Book 14 - 18

Savannah's Menage/Men by Lizzy Lynn Lee (indie)
Late Night With Elaine by Joe Brewster (indie)
The First Taste by Annie McLeod (indie)
Claiming Love #1: The Mistake by Lucia Jordan (indie)
Playtime by Scarlett Snow (indie)

Savannah's Men by Lizzie Lynn Lee   'Savannah's Menage/Men' by Lizzie Lynn Lee 3/5 stars . . . Savannah's got much more than she bargain for on this one particular outing. And I am most certainly not talking about the three very hot Italian panther shifters.  Savannah's past comes back for her in a very big way.

Late Night With Elaine  'Late Night With Elaine' by Joe Brewster 4/5 stars . . .First read by Brewster and it was very quick to the point story that had me laughing my ass off in the end.  I was in need of a good laugh. Sorry for the young lady that had to accept the brunt of the pun intended on her.

'The First Taste' by Annie McLeod 2/5 stars . . .I obtained this book in October 2013 from Nook and this was a very quick read.  I am honestly not completely sure what I thought by the end of this read.  There was something there but there is more need for development to make it into something more.

The Mistake by Lucia Jordan  'Claiming Love #1: The Mistake'  by Lucia Jordan 5/5 stars . . . First read by Jordan and she gave me a very HOT, WET, ELECTRIFYING, and INTOXICATING  ride to the release of one's inhibitions.  That leads to Krista doing something that she has wanted to do for a very long time.  When friends mix alcohol in to things they should wear warning labels to 'stay away until effects wear off'.

Playtime  'Playtime' by Scarlett Snow 4/5 stars . . .First read by Snow and with this simple, short, sexy story.  She will get me back for more.  Soren had a need and her husband planned a playtime to fill that need and more.

I am not a professional reviewer.  These are just my personal opinions.
